In its continuing effort to prioritize the highest-impact, most cost effective stormwater management projects, the City of Elmhurst has approved a contract with Christopher B. Burke Engineering Ltd. for the design of the Madison Early Childhood Center Stormwater Improvement Project. This project will entail the construction of storm sewers pipes under Washington Street (both north and south of Madison Street), flowing to a new detention basin on the south side of the Madison School site, to provide overland flood relief for your neighborhood. Final design work is underway and the City is expecting to seek bids in the next month or two for this project. The current schedule calls for the project to begin this summer, with completion in the winter.
