The City has contracted with Christopher B. Burke Engineering, Ltd. for the design of this project and their staff is currently working on the preliminary engineering. The project will provide up to 10 acre-feet of stormwater detention in the west portion of York Commons Park.
This week, the City Council approved the Intergovernmental Agreement (I.G.A.) with the Elmhurst Park District for this project, including the shut-off valve as requested by the District. The Mayor has signed and sent the I.G.A. to the Elmhurst Park District for execution. Work is tentatively scheduled to begin in the summer/fall, pending scheduling discussions with the Elmhurst Park District.
