The detention basin excavation is now complete and a majority of the stone along the bottom has been installed to prevent erosion. The contractor has begun installing the sewers from the street to the basin and will also be installing the force main which will drain the basin after rain events. The final limit of the stone bottom was modified based on field conditions and a new rendering of the basin is shown below. With the new brick paver parking lot at Christ United Methodist Church now complete and striped the parking lot is now available for use by the church. Work is expected to heavily impact Jackson Street traffic for approximately 2-3 more weeks while the underground work is completed and the road is restored. After that point, the remaining work will include restoration of the grass areas and fence installation. The contractor is continuing to coordinate with Jackson Elementary School during drop-off and pick-up times to ensure the children’s safety.
