Walnut/Myrtle/Evergreen- Construction Kick-off

Posted on January 29, 2016 at 11:04 AM by Amanda Stuber

The City of Elmhurst will soon begin a major stormwater improvement project. The City of Elmhurst has entered into a contract with Bolder Contractors, Inc. of Cary, IL to construct a new relief sewer that will discharge flood waters into DuPage County’s Elmhurst Quarry Flood Control Facility near First Street and Highland Avenue. This project involves construction of a new large diameter storm sewer that will provide additional relief to the existing storm sewers in large storm events.

During construction, it will be necessary at times to close access to the street. Message boards will be placed to notify the public, starting with the first road closure at First St. between Highland Ave. and Myrtle Ave. Local traffic will be allowed through closed roads. To stay informed of all road closures, be sure to register for Road Closure Alerts through Notify Me to receive notices via email or text.

Work is tentatively scheduled to begin February 8, 2016 and the project is anticipated to be substantially completed by November, 2016.  The start of the work is weather dependent.

Construction Notices were hand delivered to residents in the surrounding area.  Please see below for copy of the notice:
